David Batchelor's 'Candelas V & VI', two spectacular suspended clusters of plastic household bottles, each of which contained a low energy bulb, were installed by the Ingleby Gallery side by side in a pair of gated cloisters at the imposing Old Royal High School building on Regent Road in Edinburgh from August to December 2006.
Batchelor's work could also be seen in Edinburgh during August 2006 at the Ingleby Gallery within the exhibition 'Thread', and at the Royal Botanic Gardens where 'Candela 7/450 (For the Death Star)', a huge sculpture initially commissioned by Bloomberg LP, was installed in the Victorian Palm House by the Edinburgh Art Festival (supported by Bloomberg).
