Glasgow-based artist Kenny Hunter presents a new text-based work for Ingleby Gallery's public art project, Billboard for Edinburgh.
Hunter's chosen text 'The Quick and the Dead' is a English phrase that originates from the King James version of the Christian Bible. The word 'Quick' is an older form of the word 'Living'. The layering of the text suggests the passing of time and is a response to Edinburgh's architecture and sense of history.
As part of the project, Hunter's billboard image has also been realised as a limited edition six-colour screenprint. For further details, please see the books, prints and editions section of our website.
