Callum Innes was born in Edinburgh in 1962 and has lived in the city ever since. The quiet beauty of his work has been widely acclaimed in recent years with exhibitions in London, New York, Paris and Zurich in 1998 and at the Ikon Gallery in Birmingham, the Kunsthaus in Bern and the Irish Museum of Modern Art in 1999. His last exhibition in Scotland was at Inverleith House in 1996. Innes has been shortlisted for both the Jerwood and Turner prizes and was the winner of the prestigious Nat West Prize for painting in 1998. This exhibition of recent work offers a rare opportunity to see his work on home ground.
