Jon Schueler is one of the forgotten masters of 20th century American art. He left New York in the late 1950s, just as his colleagues Pollock and Rothko were finding fame, preferring instead the solitude of Mallaig on the west coast of Scotland. This is the first British exhibition of Schueler's work since his death in 1992. A complete retrospective will tour British Museums in 2002/2003.
