Craig Murray-Orr was born in New Zealand in 1942, but has lived in London since 1968. Since his last exhibition at the Ingleby gallery in October 1998 he has continued to explore a very personal idea of gun culture. In Murray-Orr's hands, carved from hardwoods, rifles and small arms are things of abstract beauty rather than weapons. In this new body of work the mood is one of innocence over violence - a celebration of the universal toy gun of boyhood.
