The series, which runs until October 2023, follows the central role of The Darkroom within his life and chemical photography, and is accompanied by a publication, Dark Room: The Memoir. This lecture will explore in particular the significant role of The Darkroom in his life and within chemical photography.
'The sun is in the West, the horizon is waiting its arrival. This is the moment when I feel most alive – eyes widest open. We can start a fresh tomorrow; we can try again to become a vessel of radiance. The last daylight has fallen, passed through my eyes, cast its shadows on my brain. I have soaked up every last drop. This last look is the most important as the sun falls. I carry it into the darkness. It holds me safe. In the morning, I release its light back into the world, like a Darkroom exposure.' – Garry Fabian Miller
