The National Opera Stuttgart has drawn heavy influence from the work of Garry Fabian Miller in an abstracted stage version of Johannes-passion by Johann Sebastian Bach. Directed by Ulrich Rasche, the performance focuses on 'the common, collective experience, the ritual, the listening of such timeless tories and myths and on the other hand the search for truth, in former times and today.'
The images appear as part of the programme catalogue, providing references for the inspirations and intellectual visions of the production team, and demonstrating an interplay between concrete forms and ephemeral moments which comprise the performance itself. It is available to buy on the evening of the performances, which are taking place throughout May.
