Scottish Landscapes: A New Generation

Brandon Logan presents work in this diverse and dynamic exhibition produced by new Scottish art school graduates, all ten of whom have graduated since 2018. These artists are linked together through their use of landscape to explore issues such as sustainability, care, heritage, isolation, craftsmaship and colonialist history. They go beyond traditional landscape representation, using movement, ritual and performance to tackle the genre in a fresh way.
Amongst photography, film, sculpture and painting, Logan presents his distinctive abstract compositions made using string and paint, referencing through his choice of colours the flora of his native Orkney.
As part of the exhibition there will also be a series of tours, 'Elevenses and Landscapes', which will include the opportunity to enjoy choral performance pieces included in the exhibit and which will only be performed as part of these tours. In addition, tea, coffee, and pastries will be served by award-winning Edinburgh caterers Hickory.
