Katie Paterson's Endling (2021) and Caroline Walker's My Bottles and Pumps (2024) are on display in Pallant House Gallery's current show The Shape of Things: Still Life in Britain.

The exhibition, featuring a selection of works by modern and contemporary artists in Britain including Vanessa Bell, Patrick Caulfield, Ben Nicholson, Rachel Whiteread and Mona Hatoum, questions the idea that still life is a lesser genre.

Digging into still life's rich symbolism, showcasing how it has pushed boundaries and new ideas, the show invites viewers to consider themes such as love and grief, identity and the subconscious, the legacy of colonialism and climate change.
