A series of works by Thomas Joshua Cooper is currently on view in the Royal Scottish Academy's Benno Schotz and A Scots Miscellany.
Since the RSA's foundation in 1826, international artists have been part of the fabric of the RSA and have helped to shape the wider story of art in Scotland. In 2020, the RSA received a generous studio gift from the family of sculptor Benno Schotz RSA, who came to Scotland from Estonia in 1912.
The exhibition showcases Schotz's work alongside a selection of first-generation immigrant artists who have made Scotland their home and have gone on to be elected as Royal Scottish Academicians.
